Watch Resilience and mindfulness, presented as part of Mental Health Matinées, a series of online presentations promoting positive mental health and wellbeing in the performing arts.

This is a tough time for so many people in our industry, and at times like these, we need more self-care not less. However, this is often easier said than done! These sessions give practical tools and techniques to help you navigate through COVID-19 and beyond.

There is extensive evidence supporting the health benefits of mindfulness practice, but – as with many things – mindfulness can often be easier said than done. This welcoming, relaxed session is designed to address some of the common challenges faced when practicing mindfulness, and ways in which you can simply incorporate mindfulness into your life to build your personal resilience.

Presented by Coco Nkrumah

Coco is a secular mindfulness educator with a passion for sharing the practice of mindfulness. As a teen, Coco had an interest in Chinese martial also known as Kung fu and by the age of 17 began full-time training. This led him to complete a martial arts and sports coaching apprenticeship. During this time he also became certified in Chinese taosit and Buddhist meditation. Coco wanted to understand the underlying principles of the different meditation styles across the world. This led him to study western mindfulness in which he was trained and certified as a mindfulness educator and meditation teacher.
